Who we are

Ahjo Press is a publishing house run by Adam Tiainen, a sole trader (toiminimi) in Tornio, Finland. Business ID (Y-tunnus): 3543624-2. This page explains what we do with personal data. It is the only data we handle: this site has no accounts, no shop and no advertising.

What we collect

Only what you send us through the contact forms: your name, email address, and the message and details you choose to include. Please do not attach or paste a full manuscript unless we ask for one.

Why, and on what basis

We use it to read and answer your message, and, for submissions and applications, to decide whether to work together. The basis is our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps taken at your request before a possible agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and (b)).

Who sees it

Messages are passed from the site to our own systems and email, and handled by our service providers: Vercel (website hosting) and our email provider. We do not sell your data or use it for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

General enquiries: up to 12 months. Submissions we decline: up to 12 months, then deleted. If we work together, we keep what is needed for the working relationship and our accounting duties.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are served from this site itself, so your browser does not contact Google or any other third party for them. Links to Amazon leave this site and are covered by Amazon’s own policy. Some links may be affiliate links, which earn us a small commission at no cost to you.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy. Write to us through the general contact form. You may also complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
